Profile

Carolyn Fletcher

Carolyn's career revolved around the financial world for 15 years. She graduated from the University of Cape Town with an Honours degree in Business Science and was subsequently employed by the Graduate School of Business as a researcher in the Institute of Retail studies. The travel bug hit her and she spent a year travelling through the USA, Bermuda, Europe and London.

She settled in London and started her own business in personal financial planning and portfolio management. The business was a great success yet she was suffering from stress. She became a student of a Chinese Qigong Master (standing meditation). He opened her mind and heart to her spiritual nature.

She returned to Cape Town in 1997, started practising Tai Chi and continued with her meditation practise. Carolyn was employed as a relationship manager within the Syfrets Private bank (now owned by the Nedcor group). She moved up to the position of Product Manager for the Nedcor suite of unit trusts marketing the funds on a wholesale basis to financial institutions.

At the same time, Carolyn engaged in years of personal therapy, group therapy and consciousness training. Her interest in people evolved in a desire to counsel and she studied Imaginal and Transpersonal Psychology, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Time Line Therapy and Holotropic Breath work. Carolyn completed her NLP Masters and Tai Chi instructors training and registered as a Counsellor with the South African Council for Counsellors.

She left the corporate world and started “Bubbling Well”: a Counselling and Tai Chi practice. She specialises in relationship and couples work, addictions, co-dependency, depression and grief and loss counselling. Her work has inspired countless couples to evolve from difficulties within their relationships. Carolyn is a personal ‘coach' and facilitates ‘personal breakthroughs' for those seeking career change and guidance.

Carolyn's practises and teaches Tai Chi Chuan. Tai Chi is a martial art often referred to as movement meditation. The practise of Tai Chi helps to improve physical fitness and energy levels, release stress, improve mental clarity and promotes health and harmony. Classes are run in the morning in the Blaauwberg Hall and Tai Chi is an art that everybody throughout their lives, irrespective of age, can perform.
